Welcome to Modern Arnis Chicago.

Modern Arnis Chicago is an affiliate of the International Modern Arnis Federation, the official Modern Arnis Organization founded by the late Grandmaster Remy A Presas (1936 -2001). Modern Arnis Chicago is headed by Master Jim Ladis, one of seven individuals to receive the title of Master of Tapi-Tapi from Grandmaster Presas. In additional there are five black belt instructors throughout the greater Chicago area.

Modern Arnis is a comprehensive Filipino martial art centered around the use of a single rattan stick (about 28 inches long) from the start of training. Training includes both single stick as well as double stick action. Additional empty hand techniques and ground-fighting are also taught, making Modern Arnis a complete and extremely effective self defense system. More info on Modern Arnis.
